There is no real AI yet! AI is preprogrammed to do everything it does. However, scientists hope to create real AI in the near future.
What is the Main Function of AI?
The main function of AI is to help humans function in their daily lives, and sometimes think for them, however, it can't do that at the moment. What it can do, is be preprogrammed by humans to respond to different situations, by picking out words, and objects. This helps the computer determine how to respond. An advantage to AI is that it can do these types of processes in milliseconds.

PERSONAL ASSISTANTS
Like an assistant in real life, personal assistants are made to answer your questions as fully as they can. They try to recognize certain words and build an answer based on that. They’re programmed to answer certain phrases with certain answers. They usually will search the internet if it doesn’t know how to answer your question, and show you the search results.

How is it used?
AI FOR GOOD : ASSISTANTS
AI can be used to assist people. For example, the example of AI in the background, called Pepper, is used in restaurants, shops, banks, etc to assist people in their daily lives, whether it's helping people with directions or a tutorial, or making a purchase of a product.
CONCLUSION: FUNCTION
AI is useful, but is still in what we would call an infancy stage. It still has some bugs that have not been fixed, and flaws that have also not been fixed, but a lot of new stuff goes through this phase before it is perfect. We don't know how AI will turn out in the future, but we do know that it is looking good for AI, and that definitely, the functionality of AI will definitely become more evident and there will be so many different uses for AI in the future.
